Happiness Is An Illusion

Happiness as we know it is an illusion
The moment you ‘try’ to be happy
You’ve already defeated yourself
You’re carrying something that can be taken away from you
Tragedy strikes and is made worse
Because your illusion of happiness can’t be maintained
There’s no one more annoying than the idiot wearing the ‘happy’ mask
Telling everyone they’re happy and that everyone else should be like them
An idiot with a mask

Life spontaneously occurs
Moment to moment
Sometimes it’s up
Sometimes it’s down
If you have no expectation of either
The feelings are genuine
If you expect one or the other
Or dwell on either
You are suffering unnecessarily

I’m not happy
But I’m not unhappy
I take each moment as it comes
I have no expectations
So I’m at peace
Peace is a deeper form of happiness
If you sleep on the floor
You won’t fall out of bed.
