Carrying on with life normally
And suddenly, without warning
An overwhelming darkness descends
Everything is wrong
You don’t want to be here
Death is preferable to life
People wonder why others suddenly end their life
It’s because the mask slips
The darkness is always there
Deep down, we know life is wrong
We all have Stockholm syndrome
We’re abducted into a body
Energy becomes desire
The thirst of wanting
Or not wanting
Controls everything
We spend all our time
Driven by that which cannot make us happy
Wealth and beauty are empty
Look at the wealthy and beautiful
See the snarl on the lips
The emptiness in the eyes
The bullying satisfaction
Or lording their wealth and empty beauty over you
They are the sickest
Storing wealth while others starve
The darkness haunts everyone
It cannot be escaped
Many try to convince themselves and others
That they are happy
But look deeper
Accept the darkness
Welcome it
When you know the name of the devil
It can’t hurt you
Want and don’t want
Are two sides of the same coin
Far deeper than happiness
Is insight and wisdom
When you recognise the truth
When the mask slips
You see it and know it’s name
When you sleep on the floor
You won’t fall out of bed
