Your body and instincts have their own language!
Be still, be silent, breathe deep, and wait for body to calm down, then your emotions, and finally your thoughts – and then wait for your body and then your instincts to speak.
They don’t use words, their language is usually drowned out by your thoughts and emotions, but when they finally calm down, you can learn the language. It’s the same that your dog, cat, all animals and nature uses. You really can learn to be at ‘one with the universe’ by listening to it.
We are indoctrinated to abuse our body, with harsh exercises, pastimes and diets by those that want to control us and keep us dissatisfied and know how to keep our ‘survival instincts’ unnaturally active with addiction, fear and anxiety. Yet our natural body and instincts are constantly pleading with us to listen to their natural intelligence. They whisper, then speak, then shout, then scream and will finally break you if you are unable to hear them.
Mindfulness puts us back in touch with them. Our body will tell us what it needs, when and how. Our instincts tell us what and who is right and wrong for us. Instead of being directed unnaturally and often not knowingly by others, we are able to listen, have faith in and trust in our body and instincts. We are then able to have an internal locus of power driven by reliable sources.
