The great thing about social media is that everyone can voice their opinion.
The worst thing about social media is that everyone can voice their opinion.
An opinion only has the value of the experience and intelligence of the person giving it.
The problem is that the most vociferous commenting on martial art posts are those of little experience and intelligence.
I call them the ‘one handed typists’ (you can guess what they’re doing with the other one).
“That would never work on the streets” and “you have to make it work against non-compliant partners” are the classic idiot speak.
They are either children or adults with the brain of a child. It’s a school playground mentality, actually it’s worse, because at least the best fighter is revered in the playground. These people were definitely not the best fighters, even at school. They can only hide behind a keyboard.
Here’s some tips:
If you’ve not spent a career on the streets, in the sport or on the mats STFU.
If someone posts up their activities without making extravagant claims – leave them alone.
If someone comments on your post negatively and don’t have the experience, intelligence or politeness, block them.
Don’t give them a voice or any of your headspace, don’t let them in, do something worthwhile instead.
