Use Your Calendar

In my 50 years of training I always put the years training and seminar dates in my calendar first and then worked everything else around them where possible.

Every year in June I do my following year’s calendar and give the dates out to all my students well in advance so they can do the same.

Anyone that trains with me knows that every seminar will contain a lot of information that will never be given again.

I view my calendar a month in advance, then each week and each day to remind me of what I’m doing and teaching.

I find it hard to understand when students don’t even use a calendar or don’t look at it.

“When’s our next seminar?”
“Is the seminar this weekend?”
“Sorry I forgot the seminar was this weekend”
“I can’t make it this weekend because I’m already committed to something far less important.”

I know all my fellow teachers get the same thing. TBH I don’t mind because they miss out, not me and I’d prefer to teach the people that are committed to learning and see each date as important as I did with my teachers.

It does highlight your importance to others is not in what they say but in what they do.
