Ong Namo…

Ong Namo…Greeting universal consciousnessAs it fills the space in every cell in my bodyThe dark and cold of the cave behind meThe immovability of the rock surrounding meThe dawning light at the cave mouthThe steam from the awakening earth and plantsAs the morning warmth blends with the cold of nightThe earthy smell mixing with the heady perfume of awakening flowersThe profound silenceInterspersed with the calling of birdsThe trees stretching their branchesSo the leaves absorb the sunThe rough robe against my skinMorning hunger letting me know I’m aliveThe growl of ‘Ong’ from the lower abdomenVibrating the roof of my mouthOpening the … Continue reading Ong Namo…

Manipulating The Chakras With Tai Chi

Manipulating The Chakras With Tai Chi What do the chakras do? Root Chakra – is life and death, a very powerful primal energy driving sex and mortal fear. Sacral Chakra – is instincts, that ‘gut feeling’ you need to learn to rely on. Solar Plexus Chakra – is normal fear, anxiety and anger. Heart Chakra – is patience, kindness, tolerance and compassion. Throat Chakra – is expression, the ability to influence your environment. Brow Chakra – the ‘third eye’ is insight and visionary. Crown Chakra – is wisdom and spirituality. Releasing Energy

Understand how the body naturally builds up and releases energy and you understand how to use it in qigong and Tai Chi. This also applies to the internal energy in all martial art technique. Your morning stretch is different to your exercise stretches. This is because you build up your energy in your stretch and then release it to wake up. Notice the feeling that goes with the release. You do the same when you sneeze, yawn, when you go to the loo, when you ejaculate and even when dealing with emotion and pain. Understand this and you go a … Continue reading Releasing Energy

Don’t Be Diverted

If people knew the power they had, the world would be a far better place. Instead like lemmings we allow our minds and emotions to be diverted by those who currently hold power at our behest. Separate the masses and turn them on each other and they never look at the manipulators, the gaslighters and greedy narcissists. We used to say that if the information was available that people would become self educated and work together to make the world a better, compassionate and kinder environment. When that happened with the advent of the internet, we were diverted and turned … Continue reading Don’t Be Diverted

Sepsis Can Be Fatal!

Sepsis can be fatal! This only took a couple of hours, in 2015 I got in the car for the 2hr trip from Jizerka to Prague feeling fine. By the time we arrived at Prague I could barely walk and felt really ill. The plane journey was horrific and I collapsed at Gatwick trying to get into the car. It took over an hour to get me into the ambulance as my heart was giving out. 2 failed surgeries at the NHS hospital and whilst they prepared for the third I knew I would die if I stayed. Luckily my … Continue reading Sepsis Can Be Fatal!

Shamanism In Tai Chi

Shamanism in Tai Chi. We focus mainly on the snake, crane and tiger, these 3 animals are within every technique in a variety of ways. Snake is bound to the earth, our primalenergies and reptilian brain. It represents our qi energy, the way we move against the earth, the way we ‘coil’ bonelessly in movement, wrap around the opponent and escape grips and holds. It also represents the ‘spit’ and venom of a sudden attack. Tiger represents our mammalian energies, our powerful intention, qi projection, bone, tendon and muscular power, our structural integrity in framing our body, tearing techniques and … Continue reading Shamanism In Tai Chi

Why I Choose A Dojo v Gym

Why I choose a Dojo over a Gym. A Dojo is a community of mutual support. Respect and dignity are paramount. We learn how to discipline the mind, develop emotional intelligence, relate to each other and develop a vigorous health that’s fit for purpose as opposed to vanity. Martial Art training is a fun way to learn these skills rather than the ‘punishment’ we tend give to ourselves in a gym for not matching media expectation. They can be practiced anywhere without the need of expensive equipment. Classes are not random, grades and syllabus are specific so we always know … Continue reading Why I Choose A Dojo v Gym
